This series developed from my interest in contemporary dance, and through my study of choreography and performed movement. These paintings embrace the complexity of our interconnected human experience of war and conflict through the articulation of body movement. In this work I examine what it means to be human, looking at the decisions we make in the most frightening situations and in the most insignificant. I draw awareness to the tension between intelligence and instinct, and how this alters the choices we make and live with.I am continuing to make connections and build on this work.
